Out of Brooklyn, NY, Fort Lean come to us with a gigantic sounding single, “Sunsick” off of their latest 7”. The 5 piece achieve a magnificent balance of aggressive drums and breathy guitar rings that create enough space to fill the halls of a cathedral. Vocal performance is extremely convincing and I must say, the chorus reminds me of one of my favorite bands As Tall As Lions, now broken up unfortunately. Guitar leads are drenched in reverb…these gents definitely have my approval.
This coming Tuesday, Fort Lean are headlining Santos Party House in their hometown. Grab your ticket here before it sells out!

Yesterday afternoon, NETS players Deron Williams, DeShawn Stevenson, and Kris Humphries led a basketball clinic for 100 students at Brooklyn High School for Leadership and Community Service. Prior to the clinic, NETS employees offered a career counseling forum for the students. Said Deron on the visit and Brooklyn, “I know they love basketball in Brooklyn, there’s no doubt about that definitely. We walked in, and the energy was great, the kids definitely love basketball and they’re eager to learn, so you know I’m definitely excited about it.”
Tonight at The Greene Space in lower Manhattan, thirteen Brooklyn bands will compete in the annual Battle of the Boroughs competition!
